fully illustrated & lettered cover

Most adventure and book covers are made up of different parts: illustrations by one artist, and the title either as a font or created by another designer.Fully illustrated & lettered covers incorporate both from the very beginning, ensuring that everything has a cohesive look and the same visual style. The covers are hand-drawn, 100% customizable & tailored to the world of your project.

example: mini collection of tarot cards

I was asked to create a mini collection of tarot-inspired cards for an immersive TTRPG adventure. The motifs on the cards are based on the adventure’s lore of the fictional, cozy fantasy village of Jinglewood and its resident fortune-teller, Madame Celestia. The hand-drawn lettering & card borders are inspired by Art Nouveau to give the whole set a mystical look.

hand-drawn, bespoke illustration & lettering for your project

design process for custom art

If you’re interested in working together, here’s what you need to know beforehand:The turnaround time for custom art is usually between 4 and 8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the project, the number of illustrations/letterings & how quickly we can communicate back & forth. After you’ve filled out the commission inquiry form, I’ll get back to you within 3 business day. Depending on the information provided, I’ll ask some clarifying questions about the project, or I’ll send you a proposal for the scope & pricing options. If the proposal is approved & a collaboration is made, we both sign a mutually agreed-upon contract so that all the important details are documented & both parties get a secure commission experience. To officially start the project, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total amount is required. The remaining 75% is due upon completion, before the delivery of the final files. Payment is accepted via Bank Transfer or PayPal. Payment in instalments is available upon request.Once we’ve sorted out all the formalities & launch the project, we’ll usually go through these three stages:
1. concept sketches
Exploring general ideas, directions, compositions with a number of different concepts, based on the briefing & proposal
2. base colors
Based on the mood & vibe of the project, 2 to 3 color schemes are provided to choose from & refine
3. final art
Creating the rendering of the final art with the chosen colors, effects, details & finishing touches
If the project consists of multiple illustrations, we can also include a style test, in which one illustration is rendered as a preview & proof before all the illustrations are completed. Each project includes up to 3 rounds of revisions during which the art can be refined & adjusted. It’s very important to me that you are fully satisfied, which is why we will only proceed once a stage has been confirmed & approved.Once the artwork is complete, you’ll receive a preview & we can make small final adjustments. Once you’re happy with the result, you’ll transfer the remaining 75% of the total amount. As soon as I receive it, I’ll send you the digital files via a secure link, in the formats & sizes we defined before the start of the project.I see this as a collaboration between two creative partners, and place a high value on open communication & honesty. I’m always available to answer questions, no matter how small. I’m really looking forward to working with you!
